A membrane press is a production machine that bonds PVC, foil or coating material flawlessly onto the surface of parts such as furniture doors, panels and profiles under heat and vacuum. It is the backbone of the MDF furniture and door industry; pressing quality directly determines the appearance and durability of the product.
How does a membrane press work?
Its operating principle relies on three fundamental elements: a flexible membrane (a silicone/rubber sheet), vacuum and controlled heat. The part is placed on the platen and the coating is laid over it; the membrane descends and wraps the part under vacuum, and once heat is applied the adhesive is activated. By applying even pressure across all edges and every contour of the part, the membrane ensures a smooth, seamless coating.
