Manufacturing Scope

Fixing and locating elements are precision-turned parts that lock the position of two components relative to one another with repeatable accuracy — in dies and molds, work-holding fixtures, assembly jigs and machine frames. In this category Ayyıldız Robotics produces 14 families and 154 types: parallel dowel pins (ISO 2338), internally tapped extraction dowels (ISO 8733), conical-tip and threaded-mount locating pins, hex-drive locating pins (SW7–SW17), shouldered rest pins, knurled press-fit guide pins, set screws (DIN 913/914), stop pins, support pins and stop bushings, locating pins, knurled adjusting nuts and adjustable stop studs. We machine them in steel, stainless steel, brass and aluminum, in the ⌀2–20 mm range (the SW-20 caps at ⌀20 mm) on a CNC Swiss-type lathe. As standard we hold m6 for press fits, g6 for guiding/locating, h6/h7 on the pin body, 6g/6H on threads, internal threads from M2.5 to M12 and a 60° centering cone. Frequently Asked Questions

How are dowel pins made and what tolerance do you hold?

Parallel dowel pins (ISO 2338) are turned in a single operation on the Goodway SW-20 Swiss-type lathe, chamfered at the ends and brought to the required fit class together with hardness. As standard we produce m6 for press (interference) fits, g6 for sliding/locating fits and h6/h7 for the general pin body. For the extraction type we tap an internal thread (M2.5–M12) per ISO 8733.

Which materials do you use for locating and rest pins?

Steel, stainless steel (for corrosion and food/medical environments), brass and aluminum. Material is selected according to working load, wear, corrosion exposure and the mating part; just state the application in your request and we will recommend a suitable grade.

What diameter range and precision can you achieve?

Given the bar capacity of the SW-20 Swiss lathe we work in the ⌀2–20 mm range. On critical diameters we target h6/g6/m6 classes, 6g/6H on threads, a 60° centering cone on conical tips and, where the geometry allows, precision on the order of ±0.01 mm. Just note the tolerance and surface requirement on your drawing.

Do you make custom or non-standard locating pins?

Yes. Alongside the 154 standard types we produce parts to your technical drawing (PDF, DWG/STEP or a dimensioned sketch) with custom shoulders, internal threads, knurls, hex drives or spherical/conical rest tips. We can also reverse-engineer from a sample or drawing.

What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?

We have manufactured in Düzce, Türkiye since 2009 and serve both prototype/sample quantities and series orders, without imposing a rigid minimum. Lead time depends on material supply, quantity and part complexity and is stated clearly in the quote. Pricing is by quote.
