Manufacturing Scope

Ball Stud is a Joint & Pivot Elements family precision-turned on a Goodway SW-20, covering 9 variants — diameters ⌀8–20 mm, lengths 28–55 mm, standard material Steel (also steel, stainless, brass or aluminium). The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is MAFA-BLS-14 at 55 mm. Besides turning, the family requires thread turning (5 sizes from M5 to M12), hex flat milling (AF 10) and taper turning. All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.

The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is MAFA-BLS-05: 28 mm long at ⌀8 mm, L/D 3.5. This ratio is achievable on a conventional lathe as well; the sliding-head advantage in series work is that the part never leaves the machine, so the size does not drift from variant to variant.

Variants are machined to h8 tolerance; the smallest is MAFA-BLS-05 (⌀8 mm) and the largest MAFA-BLS-14 (⌀20 mm). The family includes threaded, hex-drive, tapered, multi-step variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
