Material & Tolerance
The standard material is listed below; also available in steel, stainless, brass and aluminium. Dimensions in mm; tolerances machined to ISO. Deviations (mm) are given for the nominal diameter according to the ISO 286-2 tables; thread tolerances (6g/6H) are to ISO 965. For custom sizes/tolerances, contact us with the part code.
Manufacturing Scope
Guidewire Tip is a Medical & Dental Parts family precision-turned on a Goodway SW-20, covering 10 variants — diameters ⌀0.8–4 mm, lengths 16–39 mm, standard material Stainless Steel (also steel, brass or aluminium). Every variant's part code, dimension and tolerance is listed below; request a quote with the code you need.
The family is machined from ⌀4 mm bar stock; its longest variant is MEDA-GWT-40 at 39 mm. Besides turning, the family requires taper turning and axial drilling (⌀0.5–2.4 mm). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The most slender variant is MEDA-GWT-08: 16 mm long at ⌀0.8 mm, a length-to-diameter ratio of 20.0. This ratio is the very reason sliding-head lathes exist. The guide bushing supports the bar immediately beside the cutting point, so there is no deflection; the same part chatters and drifts in diameter on a conventional lathe.
Variants are machined to h8 tolerance; the smallest is MEDA-GWT-08 (⌀0.8 mm) and the largest MEDA-GWT-40 (⌀4 mm). The family includes tapered, bored, multi-step variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
