The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is BAGA-799-10 at 49.4 mm. Besides turning, the family requires thread turning (6 sizes from M3 to M10), taper turning and axial drilling (⌀2–6 mm). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is BAGA-799-02: 21.7 mm long at ⌀5.5 mm, L/D 3.9. This ratio is achievable on a conventional lathe as well; the sliding-head advantage in series work is that the part never leaves the machine, so the size does not drift from variant to variant.
