The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is PIMB-SPL-12 at 37 mm. Besides turning, the family requires thread turning (6 sizes from M4 to M12), hex flat milling (AF 7–17), taper turning and axial drilling (⌀2.5–7 mm). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is PIMB-SPL-05: 20.5 mm long at ⌀9.2 mm, L/D 2.2. A short, rigid body: what governs the result here is not deflection but diameter tolerance and surface finish.
