Standard Hex Nut is a Nuts & Adapters family precision-turned on a Goodway SW-20, covering 9 variants — diameters ⌀6.4–19.6 mm, lengths 1.6–10 mm, standard material Steel (also steel, stainless, brass or aluminium). The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is SOMA-ARA-12 at 10 mm. Besides turning, the family requires hex flat milling (AF 5.5–17). Bores in this family run ⌀2–12 mm. All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is SOMA-ARA-12: 10 mm long at ⌀19.6 mm, L/D 0.5. A short, rigid body: what governs the result here is not deflection but diameter tolerance and surface finish.
