The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is SOMA-KAP-10-L at 70 mm. Besides turning, the family requires hex flat milling (AF 5.5–17) and axial drilling (⌀3–10 mm). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is SOMA-KAP-06-L: 50 mm long at ⌀11.5 mm, L/D 4.3. This ratio is achievable on a conventional lathe as well; the sliding-head advantage in series work is that the part never leaves the machine, so the size does not drift from variant to variant.
Variants are machined to 6H tolerance; the smallest is SOMA-KAP-03 (⌀6.4 mm) and the largest SOMA-KAP-10-L (⌀19.6 mm). The family includes hex-drive, bored variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
