Manufacturing Scope
Knurled Thumb Nut is a Nuts & Adapters family precision-turned on a Goodway SW-20, covering 8 variants — diameters ⌀8–18 mm, lengths 10–20 mm, standard material Aluminium (also steel, stainless steel or brass). Every variant's part code, dimension and tolerance is listed below; request a quote with the code you need.
The family is machined from ⌀18 mm bar stock; its longest variant is SOMA-TRT-08 at 20 mm. Besides turning, the family requires taper turning, knurling and axial drilling (⌀3–8 mm). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is SOMA-TRT-05-D: 16 mm long at ⌀12 mm, L/D 1.3. A short, rigid body: what governs the result here is not deflection but diameter tolerance and surface finish.
Variants are machined to 6H tolerance; the smallest is SOMA-TRT-03 (⌀8 mm) and the largest SOMA-TRT-08 (⌀18 mm). The family includes tapered, knurled, bored, multi-step variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
