The family is machined from ⌀18 mm bar stock; its longest variant is SOMA-TRT-08 at 20 mm. Besides turning, the family requires taper turning, knurling and axial drilling (⌀3–8 mm). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is SOMA-TRT-05-D: 16 mm long at ⌀12 mm, L/D 1.3. A short, rigid body: what governs the result here is not deflection but diameter tolerance and surface finish.
