The family is machined from ⌀16 mm bar stock; its longest variant is ELEB-THR-12 at 64 mm. Besides turning, the family requires thread turning (6 sizes from M4 to M12) and taper turning. All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The most slender variant is ELEB-THR-04: 36 mm long at ⌀6 mm, a length-to-diameter ratio of 6.0. A part this slender needs tailstock support on a conventional lathe. On a sliding-head lathe the guide bushing holds the bar right next to the cutting edge, so the part is machined without a centre.
