Hollow / Grooved Shaft is a Shafts family precision-turned on a Goodway SW-20, covering 10 variants — diameters ⌀6–16 mm, lengths 30–85 mm, standard material Aluminium (also steel, stainless, brass or aluminium). The family is machined from ⌀16 mm bar stock; its longest variant is MILB-HOL-09 at 85 mm. Besides turning, the family requires axial drilling (⌀3–8 mm). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The most slender variant is MILB-HOL-05: 65 mm long at ⌀10 mm, a length-to-diameter ratio of 6.5. A part this slender needs tailstock support on a conventional lathe. On a sliding-head lathe the guide bushing holds the bar right next to the cutting edge, so the part is machined without a centre.
Variants are machined to h8 tolerance; the smallest is MILB-HOL-01 (⌀6 mm) and the largest MILB-HOL-10 (⌀16 mm). The family includes bored, multi-step variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
