Manufacturing Scope

Plain Shaft DM is a Shafts family precision-turned on a Goodway SW-20, covering 11 variants — diameters ⌀3–20 mm, lengths 20–100 mm, standard material Steel (also steel, stainless, brass or aluminium). Every variant's part code, dimension and tolerance is listed below; request an instant quote with the code you need.

The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is MILA-DM-20 at 100 mm. The family is produced by turning alone. All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.

The most slender variant is MILA-DM-03: 20 mm long at ⌀3 mm, a length-to-diameter ratio of 6.7. A part this slender needs tailstock support on a conventional lathe. On a sliding-head lathe the guide bushing holds the bar right next to the cutting edge, so the part is machined without a centre.

Variants are machined to h7 tolerance; the smallest is MILA-DM-03 (⌀3 mm) and the largest MILA-DM-20 (⌀20 mm). Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
