The family is machined from ⌀18 mm bar stock; its longest variant is MILB-STP-10 at 110 mm. The family is produced by turning alone. All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The most slender variant is MILB-STP-01: 44 mm long at ⌀6 mm, a length-to-diameter ratio of 7.3. A part this slender needs tailstock support on a conventional lathe. On a sliding-head lathe the guide bushing holds the bar right next to the cutting edge, so the part is machined without a centre.
Variants are machined to h7 tolerance; the smallest is MILB-STP-01 (⌀6 mm) and the largest MILB-STP-10 (⌀18 mm). The family includes multi-step variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
