The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is KALA-SEP-09 at 150 mm. The family is produced by turning alone. All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.

The most slender variant is KALA-SEP-03: 76 mm long at ⌀8 mm, a length-to-diameter ratio of 9.5. A part this slender needs tailstock support on a conventional lathe. On a sliding-head lathe the guide bushing holds the bar right next to the cutting edge, so the part is machined without a centre.

Variants are machined to g6 tolerance; the smallest is KALA-SEP-01 (⌀6 mm) and the largest KALA-SEP-09 (⌀19 mm). The family includes multi-step variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
