The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is KALA-HEP-08 at 125 mm. Besides turning, the family requires thread turning (5 sizes from M4 to M10) and hex flat milling (AF 7–17). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The most slender variant is KALA-HEP-04: 79 mm long at ⌀11.5 mm, a length-to-diameter ratio of 6.8. A part this slender needs tailstock support on a conventional lathe. On a sliding-head lathe the guide bushing holds the bar right next to the cutting edge, so the part is machined without a centre.
Variants are machined to 6g tolerance; the smallest is KALA-HEP-01 (⌀8.1 mm) and the largest KALA-HEP-08 (⌀19.6 mm). The family includes threaded, hex-drive, multi-step variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
