The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is KONA-HEX-50B at 38 mm. Besides turning, the family requires thread turning (6 sizes from M3 to M10) and hex flat milling (AF 5.5–17). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is KONA-HEX-25B: 24 mm long at ⌀8.1 mm, L/D 3.0. A short, rigid body: what governs the result here is not deflection but diameter tolerance and surface finish.
