The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is HIDB-GDB-16 at 40 mm. The family is produced by turning alone. Bores in this family run ⌀5–16 mm. All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.
The variant with the highest length-to-diameter ratio is HIDB-GDB-05: 18 mm long at ⌀9 mm, L/D 2.0. A short, rigid body: what governs the result here is not deflection but diameter tolerance and surface finish.
