Tapered Guide Rod is a Hydraulic & Pneumatic Pistons family precision-turned on a Goodway SW-20, covering 10 variants — diameters ⌀6–20 mm, lengths 42–98 mm, standard material Brass (also steel, stainless, brass or aluminium). The family is machined from ⌀20 mm bar stock; its longest variant is HIDA-KYM-18 at 98 mm. Besides turning, the family requires thread turning (M8), taper turning and axial drilling (⌀4 mm). All of it is completed in a single setup, without the part leaving the machine.

The most slender variant is HIDA-KYM-05: 42 mm long at ⌀6 mm, a length-to-diameter ratio of 7.0. A part this slender needs tailstock support on a conventional lathe. On a sliding-head lathe the guide bushing holds the bar right next to the cutting edge, so the part is machined without a centre.

Variants are machined to h9, 6g tolerance classes; the smallest is HIDA-KYM-05 (⌀6 mm) and the largest HIDA-KYM-18 (⌀20 mm). The family includes threaded, tapered, bored, multi-step variants. Custom sizes, tolerances or materials are produced to the part code on request.
